These lectures were founded by the late Lord Gifford, judge in the high court of justice in Scotland, who gave 80,000 pounds at his death to the Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Saint Andrews, in order that they might arrive at a clearer conception of natural religion.
