...hurdles there will be W. H. Meanix '19, a star performer, M. Noble '17, A. E. Rowse '18 and H. W. Rose '19. Rowse took third place in the 220 low hurdles against Yale last spring, and Meanix has done some clever running in the past...
...entire game, without substitutions, contrary to the practice of Coach Winsor, so that these men will probably not be taken out. Captain Schoen scored all three goals against the University in the last game and is the most consistent of the forwards. Hills and Humphreys are both fast and clever with the stck and Cushman is but slightly inferior to them. The combination play of the forward line is quick and accurate. Comey and Scully are fair defensive players, but are inclined to play a rough game. Ford, at goal, may be classed with J. I. Wylde '17 and York...
...company is well versed in stage ways, but a trifle slow and "pep"-less at present. Each one, however, plays for character values--a trait rare in "musical shows." The heroine is gladsome, and, with Mr. McGowan, sings a clever and unique song, with words of one letter and a catchy melody. The two sisters of Miss Piers and MissWegeman are brimming with comedy. Miss Piers especially brings a most engaging gentle personality to the "un-ethereal" sister, who is always hungry. Miss Michelena is a picture and sings delightfully a too insufficient number of songs. Lynn Overman is humorous...
...Blue Paradise" is not clever enough to stand on its own legs. It needs the support of able men and beautiful women, neither of which are to be seen in abundance in this production. Mr. Cecil Lean, to whom is intrusted the lead, is a very good funny man, but his "line" is not one of the newest, and suffering as he is from a cold, his personality does not impress one as especially magnetic. Boston weather may be handed the blame for this man's indisposition, and his cheerfulness and willingness to try almost made...
Harvard's strength lies mainly in team work and an unusual defensive game. Captain Morgan's defensive ability together with his speed and clever stick-work on the offence make him the most valuable all-around player on the team, if anyone can be said to hold that position. T. C. Thacher '18, regular coverpoint, has been laid up lately with an injured foot and H. K. White '19 has filled his position ably. White's long reach makes him a hard player to pass, and he plays a heady game although not as fast on the offence as Thacher...
