Candice Bergen plays the foul-mouthed girl on her way to join her fiance, an army officer stationed at Fort Reunion (clever, no?); she has been held captive for two years by the neighborhood Indians and, at film's beginning, has just somehow, inexplicably been freed-though whether rescued from, returned or simply lost by her Indian captors one never learns.
