...collecting of smiley face paraphernalia. (This seems like recycled, or at least, unimaginative material, and Silverman is shamefully wasted on a character just there to be mocked). John's only chance at making more money is to accept a challenge from his boss, played by Peter Dinklage, who is clever and sharp as usual, to go out on the road on a fraud investigating involving an allegedly totaled vintage car. The car belongs to a stripper named Tasty D Lite (Entourage's Emmanuelle Chriqui) who is seeking to recoup wages lost from her inability to work. John is teamed with...

...sample admissions essay last month. Unfortunately, the chosen piece was written by a particularly amorous applicant, who confessed to feeling full of “that gooey sap you feel late at night” whenever he thought of his dream alma mater. Some students thought it was clever, others found it apalling, and some wanted to cry because it made them think their own essays weren't original enough...

...trope more applicable to those making the accusation than to those being snarked upon. The left-wing blogosphere, at its worst, is a claustrophobic hamlet of the well educated, less interested in meaningful debate than the "village" it mocks. (At its best, it is a source of clever and well-informed anti-Establishment commentary.) ...wronged woman's dream scenario, and Meyers' intent in showing the reality of the fantasy coming true is clever and fresh. But It's Complicated is positioned more as a which-guy-will-she-choose story, and thanks to Jake's clear-cut case of permanent jerkitis, there's not a lot of dramatic tension to feed that plot line. Men are babies, Meyers is telling us, and only a humble one like Adam, who was cuckolded by his ex-wife, is really worthy of any successful, independent woman's while. Speaking of Adam, you know how he and Jane...
