Since Seinfeld, "hugging and learning" has come to stand for a certain kind of namby-pamby network comedy. But while there was hugging on The Cosby Show, Dr. Cliff Huxtable's love for his kids was filtered through the wry, no-guff sensibility that Bill Cosby developed on his comedy records. ...Outside of cardiac arrest and the injection of ketamine, NDE-type phenomena can occur in many circumstances, including fainting spells, serious disease and in the seconds before potentially catastrophic accidents, like falling off a cliff.
