...Body of War is Byrd, nine-term Virginia Senator and, in his 20s, an Exalted Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan. Though the Senator and the soldier might seem to have little in common, they are bonded by their opposition to the occupation, and their meeting serves an apt climax to the film. Byrd is near 90 now, and he walks with difficulty; as Young says, "I see we've both got some mobility issues." Together they read the names of the senators who in Oct. 2002 voted against authorizing the war - "the immortal 23," Byrd calls them...
...probe into the Romanov family murders was opened in 1993 at the climax of the democratization wave, with the goal of exposing the Bolshevik regime's brutality. ...insisted he did his own stunts, just like in the old days (so it's odd to see that the Internet Movie Database lists one performer, Zhang Peng, as "stunt double: Jackie Chan"). He still moves plausibly through the mayhem, which is what an action film requires. Maybe the climax here doesn't bear comparison with the jaw-droppingly great set pieces in Chan's Dragons Forever or Drunken Master 2 - or, for that matter, with Damon's big fight scene in The Bourne Ultimatum - but it's way more frenetic and cunningly choreographed than the digitally enhanced brawls...
Despite its high-caliber casting and novel approach to the overused underdog premise, “Rocket Science” never really decides whether it wants to be dramatic, insightful or funny. Audiences aren’t looking for a cookie-cutter happy ending, but finding a satisfying climax really shouldn’t be rocket science...
