On Houston, about people displaced by Hurricane Katrina, there's venom for the government but hope too ("Houston is filled with promise/Laredo's a beautiful place"), while Supernatural Superserious zooms from summer camp to a Harry Houdini reference to a classic pop climax ("inexperience, sweet, delirious/supernatural, superserious") with giddy confidence...

...esque neighborhood renders its interior discord shocking. “Snow Angels,” while successful in its faithful representation of human relationships, suffers from some heavy-handed production choices that warp the bleak into the boring. Most notably, the ending drags on painfully as the climax gets buried beneath a long series of concluding scenes. Green manages to tie together each relationship’s loose threads—some neatly, some clumsily—but the time he takes to do so is excessive. Still, the film’s achievement lies in making use of extremes...
