YALE CREW QUARTERS, GALES FERRY, CT., June 10, 1907.--This morning the university eight-oared crew was sent over the upper half-mile of the course at a racing clip. Although the men showed good form, the time was not quite satisfactory. In the four-oar, Griswold and Robbins were interchanged, the former going in at stroke, and the latter being moved to No. 2. Hunt was given a place in the freshman eight, and the two substitutes, Hyde and Brown, were dismissed...

...work of the crews during the past week has been very satisfactory. All the boats have improved rapidly, and the races this afternoon promise to be very close. Most of the crews still have a tendency to rush the slides and to clip the stroke at the finish, but the coaches have done a great deal to correct these faults...

...practice of the Dormitory crews during the past week has been most satisfactory among these that report regularly. Though the same faults that have characterized all the work so far, namely, a tendency to rush the slides, and clip the stroke at the finish, are still evident, great improvement has been made in this direction, and the coaches expect that in another week the crews will be in good condition for the race. Special attention has been given to starting, as in a bumping race much depends on a quick start...
