THIS afternoon the freshman nine will be given an opportunity to retaliate upon the Princeton freshmen. ...ordinary playing, the 'varsity would easily have beaten out this score, but their aggressive work was simply lifeless. They lost a chance to score in the first with two men on bases and no one out, and, from that time on, they went to sleep. Toward the close of the game, they realized that something was needed, but seemed unable to throw any vigor into their play. ...second meeting of the shooting club this year, at which the founder's cup was competed for was held yesterday afternoon on Soldier's Field. The contest was very close. Hechscher winning the cup. which if won four times in succession. or eight times it all becomes the property of the winner. The founders cup will again be competed for next week, and the captain wishes as many men as possible to attend the shoots which are held every Tuesday and Friday. The shooting of all the men to-day was very good, but as many good shooters as possible...
