His work shows so much carelessness that unless some marked improvement is made he can hardly hope to hold his place. He was not alone in this poor work, however, McAdams and Phelan were close to his record, but Phelan's work is partly excusable as it is his first game since his illness. Reed pitched well except in the seventh inning when three singles, a base on balls and four errors by Harvard netted Worcester five runs. The first inning was nearly as disgraceful...

Now it is a common thing at the last part of a game to see fifteen or twenty standing about, commenting on the game, asking the score, and annoying the scorers very much. It is imperative that the scorers pay close attention to the game, and with this bevy of men back of them, talking and asking questions, close attention is an impossibility. It will confer a great favor on the scorers and players as well, if this space be kept clear, during the game...
