Cary's work was exceptionally good, as he won the 100, 220 and 440 yards dashes. In the 100 yards dash Sherrill and Cary met; the race was very close until within five yards of the tape, when Sherrill broke down, Cary then winning easily. Neither Downs nor Dohm took part in the games, although, they had both entered. Downs did not leave Cambrige, while Dohm was not feeling well...

All the conditions were favorable to good performances, and new records were established in ten of the thirteen events.
