We realize that some large institutions, because of the sheer volume of applicants, have little choice but to rely heavily on SAT scores. But universities that have the resources to evaluate each application more closely??such as Harvard, other Ivy League schools and small liberal-arts colleges—should weigh individuals’ grades, recommendations, extracurricular activities and essays far more than their SAT scores.
