...fresh take on the genre, complete with signature Pudding style. For its 160th production, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals (HPT) will perform "Fable Attraction," which features such characters as a communist-minded Little Red Riding Hood and Mia Pharaoh, a villainous, mummified Egyptian queen. This year's script and lyrics were co-written by Kathleen H. Chen '09 and William Brian C. Polk '09.The show is still very much a work in progress, though, and the ways in which it is developing shed light on how one of Harvard's oldest institutions takes form each year.INTO THE WOODS"We have some very...
...evolution of this relationship is about as far as the film goes. Exhibited largely through a combination of stolen glances and acrobatic bedroom activity, the dynamics ultimately turn repetitive. Additionally, Wong’s character development is lacking. While Wei’s acting is exquisite, the script, co-written by Focus Features favorite James Schamus, fails to make believable her transition from schoolgirl to femme fatale. In an Associated Press article, Lee recognized that American audiences—and box offices—might not react well to the NC-17 rating and subtitles. “Its pace...
Bruner has been thinking about this a lot lately because he has co-written, with his Darden colleague Sean D. Carr, a fortuitously timed new book titled The Panic of 1907: Lessons Learned from the Market's Perfect Storm. ...Today we have the summer's last major comedy: Superbad, produced by Apatow and co-written by Rogen. It's about a pudgy, mouthy slob named Seth (Jonah Hill) and his quieter, slightly more kempt buddy Evan (Michael Cera) who want, with variously intense degrees of desperation, to get laid before they graduate from high school. At the end of a night of wacky hijinks, the lads do wind up in a sleeping bag, exchanging intimacies with...each other...
...think that's quite fair. Delpy can't help it that she is at least competent in a number of filmmaking realms. And she can't help it that her view of Paris (and of the romantic impulse) is less than enchanted. She has already appeared in (and co-written one of) a pair of Paris romances - Before Sunset and Before Sunrise - which were pretty enough, but also not exactly ga-ga when it came to the love stuff. So this new movie's attitude does not come as a complete surprise...
