STRIDING ACROSS the auditorium stage at Babson Institute several weeks ago, Julian Bond appeared almost embarrassed by the standing ovation of almost two thousand people who had flocked to hear him. Died. Gerald L. Phillippe, 59, president (1961-63) and board chairman (1963-68) of General Electric Co.; of a heart attack; in Greenwich, Conn.
