Intensive practice for the winter track meets got under way yesterday afternoon when the University and Freshman runners worked out in the new baseball cage and on the Soldiers Field board track. Coach E. L. Farrell and Captain A. H. O'Neil '28, who gave brief talks to the 175 candidates, pointed out that more men are needed in all events to fill the gaps left by the graduation of many of the most consistent performers on the boards.
