With at least three players whom Crimson coach John Yovicsin calls "among the best in the East," the Bruins have perhaps the most unheralded collection of talent in the Ivy League. Quarterback Frank Finney is the league's leading passer (outshining even Cornell's Tom Skypeck last week) and a good runner as well. Don Warburton--captain, center, and linebacker--is Brown's mainstay on defense, and 205-1b. Paul Choquette, a fullback who combines a juggernaut charge with surprising speed, rounds out this deadly up-the-middle combination...

Since Alva Kelley came to coach at Brown in 1951, his teams have won four, lost two, and tied one; this represents the best series record on the Bruins' current schedule. The Crimson lost 14 to 6 in 1955, 21 to 12 in 1956; and last year Brown rolled up its highest total of the entire series, soundly thrashing the varsity, 33 to 6. The Crimson, on the other hand, registered its largest score of the series in the very first encounter. It came in 1893, when Brown went down to a sorrowful 58-0 defeat...

With the exception of 1938, when Brown pulled a 20-13 upset, Harlow's teams won each meeting with the Bruins. The varsity was especially devastating between 1935 and 1937, as it won by the consecutive scores...

Bill Driver's ankle injury will deprive Coach Bruce Munro of some halfback reserves vitally needed in an Ivy League game. Marsh McCall, Bill Rapp, and Charlie Steele will probably have to play practically the whole game at the half-backs. Lanny Keyes and Captain Floyd Moloy will open at fullback, while Tom Bagnoli will play goal...

...There's no question about it. The sophomores have made a real contribution to the team," Coach John M. Yovicsin reported. "There is nothing like success to life a team and make it feel confident of itself, and the sophomores certainly had success last year (the '61 freshman team lost only to Princeton, by a 13-6 score). They moved up with a confident air, and this has helped the varsity squad...
