...rows of dasoyils, the dome-shaped folding huts used by wandering Ogaden herdsmen. There were two shops stocked with canned goods, boxes of spaghetti and bolts of cloth, a café where men sat drinking cups of steaming spiced tea laced with sour camel milk, a stall where a cobbler took orders for made-to-measure goatskin sandals. Camels groaned in protest as their owners loaded them up with sacks of rice, flour and sugar; the sounds blended unevenly with the bleat of goats and sheep grazing on the scrubby vegetation of a nearby field...

...charges dated back to discoveries two years ago that the Lockheed Corp., in order to sell 14 C-130 transport planes to the Italian air force, had paid a series of bribes between 1965 and 1968. Some of the bribes were directed to an Italian Premier code-named "Antelope Cobbler" in Lockheed memorandums. There were three Premiers during the time of the bribes: Leone, Moro and Mariano Rumor. Speculation about his identity centered on three former Christian Democratic Premiers: Giovanni Leone (now President of Italy), Aldo Moro and Mariano Rumor, all of whom denied any involvement. The allegations remained unsubstantiated. Then last week the Italian leftist weekly L'Espresso published three documents purportedly showing that Lockheed intended to pay $43,000 in bribes...
