...also lobbied on behalf of Lockheed's chief rival, Northrop Aircraft. A 1971 exchange of letters between the Dutch and West German Defense Ministers referred to Prince Bernhard's attempts to persuade West German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt (then Defense Minister) to purchase Northrop's YF-17 Cobra prototype fighter to replace Lockheed's Starfighter. Although the Dutch commission did not fully explore the prince's links with Northrop, several Dutch newspapers are now investigating the matter...

...sight. We sense that a Samson might have won her respect but never an "Abmaphid ... A.B. ... M.A. ... Ph.D." As "the bog in the history department," Gazzara's professorial George is detached but not desiccated. His wry grin portends revenge. He is a much trodden worm with a cobra's fangs. The less thankful roles of the subsidiary couple are less thankfully played. The giggly Anderman seems to have inhaled laughing gas rather than downed tumblers of brandy, and Kelton's Nick is docile enough to have made Martha's bed but never Martha...

Twisting and turning on the mound like a particularly well-fed cobra, the portly Tiant mesmerized the Reds with his dizzying motion, then drove them to desperation with an improbable assortment of pitches and speeds, including a rainbow curve that seemed to take 30 seconds to reach the plate. As if his pitching were not enough, he also produced...
