Sidebar transcripts from yesterday's trial show a room that at times seemed to resemble an elementary schoolclassroom more than a courtroom. Defense attorney Johnnie Cochran complained that one juror wasn't paying attention (Ito agreed, although he took no action), while defense attorney Peter Neufeld complained that prosecutor Marcia Clark was giggling during testimony. Clark denied it, saying "this did not happen. ...Mr. Neufeld is on some other planet." Judge Lance Ito was watching all of his clocks today. He pushed the attorneys to speed it up, at one point giving defense lawyer Johnnie Cochran "sixty seconds" to make a complaint, and he ejected two spectators for talking. Ito also announced that the lunch break would be reduced from 90 to 60 minutes. The renewed vigor followed atwo-day break during which Ito interviewed unhappy jurors. The Associated Press reports that no jurors will be dismissed at this time. The jury today heard the testimony of criminalist Andrea Mazzola.O.J. Central
