...Renown steamed toward Australia, last week, bearing the Duke and Duchess of York (TIME, Jan. 17 et seq.), news came that the Duchess had devised a special code before leaving England in which radio messages are sent to her concerning the health of her baby, Princess Elizabeth, now under the personal care of the Queen-Empress Mary. Flower names were chosen by the Duchess as baby code words. Rose: well and happy. Dogwood: whooping cough. Lily: sleeps well. Snapdragon: colic...
...cases cited in Judge Lindsey's article read just like contemporary fiction-young people desirous of living together, and doing so, but unable to live out the economic and psychological implications of the present marriage code. ...their services Shortly after the announcement the President and Board of Trustees ordered the curtailing of athletics. Funds formerly devoted to sports will serve to establish a new chair of theology. Presumably this drastic measure arose from a recognition of the fact that flagrant breaches of the amateur code like the payment of outstanding athletes are caused by the disproportionate emphasis which has been placed upon intercollegiate football in the colleges. Yet no measure could be more illogical...
