Klein noted that the Democrats' "economic issues are not nearly as compelling as the Republicans' religious appeal." The Democratic Party needs to focus on the attraction that religious values hold for the middle class instead of promising voters complicated and expensive government programs. Democrats also should take a long look at those who are benefiting from the faith-based social programs. Those factors are worth pursuing before the next election...
