...veteran with a B.A. in film, I must take exception to an omission from TIME's list of "The Greatest Combat Films of All Time" [CINEMA, Dec. 17]. In my opinion, the very best and still the most relevant combat film ever made was Michael Cimino's The Deer Hunter (1978), which featured heroic performances by Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken.
