...little to do with them; the shifts between the backstage plot and the on stage musical are so frequent that none of the principals is seen often enough. This is especially true of Joan McCracken, pixie-faced little dancer whose number, "It's Me," is the show's comic high point. Helena Scott, Juliet in the sub-musical, has a fine, near operatic voice; and like all the leads, she projects each word of the lyrics distinctly...

...Herbert Jarrow is the hero of Author Edgar Mittelholzer's serio-comic melodrama, The Weather in Middenshot. Until he breaks the back of his new novel with a "message," Author Mittelholzer keeps it jumping with the same comic-sardonic flair that made Shadows Move Among Them (TIME, Sept. 17, 1951) an ingaging satire of a British Guiana Utopia...

Gerry Caruthers, also keeps plugging, and a fine make up job has him looking like the most comic pirate since the days of the elder D'Oyly Carte. ...unabridged, says Williams, it would take more than 60 hours to perform. The present arrangement is clearly preferable and often pleasant. As sheer virtuosity, Williams' impersonation of 36 characters, his skill as a vocal quick-change artist, is exceptional. As theatrical entertainment, the sayings and doings of such comic creations as Mrs. Jellyby and Mrs. Pardiggle and Harold Skimpole are often great fun. And for the evening as a whole, Williams provides at least a loose rubber band of a story...
