...like the Delta Force, to devise a rescue operation. Tuttle says the DIA built a tabletop-size model of the Laotian camp based on satellite photos and took it to Fort Bragg in North Carolina to help the JSOC with its planning. Members of the Delta Force say the commandos then planned to construct a full-scale mock- up in the Philippines to practice its raid; as cover, it would pretend to be a Hollywood company shooting a commando movie. The JSOC sent intelligence officers to scout a remote airstrip in Thailand, where cargo planes carrying MH-6 helicopters would...

...division anywhere near the coast that day. On the night of the attack, I had one company out on an exercise, but they were carrying only dummy ammunition. Around midnight the commander of the company reported paratroopers 'dropping right on my head.' We thought it must be only a commando mission. I rushed over to my headquarters to get more information. We had some prisoners, including a British doctor and a few enlisted men. I chatted with the doctor about old friends of mine in the Grenadier Guards and reminisced about England, which I knew well. He warmed...

Two weeks ago, an Israeli undercover unit shot dead six Fatah Hawks -- an armed group loyal to the P.L.O. -- in the Jabalia refugee camp. ...cliche contends that the Spanish are a proud and passionate people; Lope de Vega's Fuente Ovejuna hardly strives to dispel the stereotype. After a spot of flogging and rape foreplay, loopy Lope really gets the juices flowing with graphic onstage torture and decapitation. Gorier than "Commando," racier than "Emmanuelle on Taboo Island," Fuente Ovejuna makes for old-fashioned family fun. Yet for all its mainstage status, its interesting script and its many strengths, the Loeb production retains on overwhelming air of student drama of the cardboard shield and plastic sword school...

...couch commando doing stuff like that, unless maybe he's getting school credit. He thinks he's such a big shot since he got his varsity letter in video kick boxing. He drives me crazy the way he does 15 things at once, watching the ball game on one corner of the screen, visiting Bangkok on another, jumping to whatever wild file server his punk videobot digs up. These onscreen hosts are supposed to learn more as they get to know your tastes, but I swear his gets dumber...
