Reuther immediately charged that this "shift" had "killed the service," and that "no amount of double-talk can now conceal the complete submergence of the Board of Regents and Governor Kim Sigler to the General Motors Corporation...
Odor In Pairs. Bad smells have affected the futures of big business, and the authors give most of their book to methods of sweetening people, homes, theaters, industrial products and the air around odoriferous factories. It is crude, they think, to conceal a bad smell by a stronger, pleasanter odor. A more efficient method is to get rid of the bad smell itself. This can often be done by washing it out of the air with water or absorbing it in activated carbon...
Strangers' occasional virtuosity cannot conceal its flaws. As a Cuban Gestapo man, Pedro (The Pearl) Armendariz gives a fine performance. But when he starts making bestial passes at Jennifer Jones while Garfield hides in the cellar, he is only one jump ahead of old-fashioned horse opera. (And I want it understood that I am not saying one unkind word against the man who brought the darling Dionne Quintuplets into this world. I've got cockles like the next guy.) Nevertheless, President Hersholt has stated that the Academy subsidy has been withdrawn because the Awards have been...
