There was a far smaller audience at the concert of the musical clubs last night than the merit of the performance deserved. Sanders Theatre was scarcely half filled; but the applause was very generous. It was fairly earned throughout. The playing of the Pierian, with which the concert opened, was a very pleasing testimony to the excellence of Mr. Safford's training; and in all their numbers, including an encore, the orchestra did itself great credit.
