Aside from the many concerts in Boston, and recitals by various members of the music department, there is an annual event of the greatest value, the series of Whiting recitals in Paine Hall. Mr. Arthur Whiting, with the assistance of other artists, gives each year at the three large eastern Universities a series of musical recitals planned in such a way as to illustrate different phases of the art, and explained by him, a true lover of music, in interesting talks before the concert.
