...LONDON, CONN., June 5. - Fog and mist hung over the Thames all day, but these disagreeable conditions did not prevent the crews from having their customary practice. They were on the river this forenoon and late this afternoon and did good work, though there is opportunity for vast improvement. Steam yacht Thyra, recently purchased by Mr. James A. Stillman, arrived this afternoon and her master will report to Stillman of the Harvard crew, who has her at his disposal. She will remain until after the 28th and will be made use of by the crew when they are not otherwise...
...HAVEN, Conn., June 4. - It is now almost certain that Walter Carter, the Yale pitcher, will be unable to occupy the box again during his college course. In the game in which Yale was beaten 9 to 7 by the New Yorks, Carter strained a ligament of his pitching arm. He failed to take care of it, and the strain has been aggravated. Carter now wears his arm in a bandage, and his pitching days are over. He will probably finish the season as third baseman on the Yale team. He has during his college career played every position...

They pulled exceedingly well and hit up the speed on the last quarter of the course. Hollister has entirely recovered from the tonsilitis and has taken his place in the boat, succeeding Stillman...
MIDDLETOWN, CONN., June 3. - Wesleyan easily defeated Amherst here today. The game was marked by the hard hitting of both sides and the sharp fielding of Wesleyan that made Amherst's 13 base hits count but four runs. Beeman knocked a home run. For Amherst, Sullivan and Trask and for Wesleyan, Powers and Beeman each played a great game. The score...
...LONDON, CONN., June 3. - The Harvard 'varsity and freshmen crews were on the river today and put in time at short rows. Watson coached the 'varsity eight and Kidder the freshman. The weather is quite cool, a thunder shower this afternoon lowering the temperature very much. The crews are in good condition. The launch arrived yesterday and was made use of today...
