Business schools are responding. According to the 2005 Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey of business schools, the number of core courses with nonprofit-related content has more than doubled, from 10 to 21, at the 49 schools that have participated since 2003. The number of electives with a social or environmental focus-- including courses that explore entrepreneurial solutions to social problems--has almost tripled among the 24 schools that have participated in every survey since 2001, from 137 to 468. Net Impact, a global network of M.B.A. students, graduates and professionals trying to find business-based solutions to change the world...

Forest Ethics' carrot-and-stick approach has proved effective. From 1999 to 2002, the organization pushed Staples and Office Depot to stop buying paper derived from endangered forests and ensure that 30% of the paper they sell has recycled content. Thanks to pressure from Forest Ethics, Victoria's Secret prints its clearance catalogs on paper that has more than 80% recycled content. To Paglia, however, that is only a starting point. "Moving 6% or 7% of their catalogs to recycled paper is to be applauded, but the remaining 350 million need to change," he says...

But Dell and Williams-Sonoma have started switching to recycled paper with little, if any, noticeable change in expense or quality. But for Limited Brands, parent company of Victoria's Secret, the campaign has added aggravation to an already frustrating...

...serious about the movie being a gem. It’s short, punchy, and admirably low on gross-out content. Most of the wordplay is clever, the timing is professional, and it never tries to be something it isn’t. Oh, I don’t know, see it for yourself. But bring booze when you do! I’d recommend a bottle of the finest Scotch whisky you can find, in honor of Norm Macdonald’s gloriously unnecessary Scottish supporting character...
