Deep Valley (Warner) is a story about lonely people, and what the breakdown of their loneliness does for them-and to them. Warden H. G. Worthy and the four guards who had killed eight Negro convicts at Georgia's State Highway Camp No. 18 (TIME, July 21) were cleared last week by a special grand jury of 23 Georgians.
