...Crumm and Osnes do in their Broadway debuts? Not bad at all. As Danny and Sandy, the teen summer-lovebirds each vying for acceptance by the cool crowd at Rydell High, they lack a certain amount of big-stage charisma. Crumm has the winsome, quizzical look of a class clown who gets the girl only by accident, not the heartthrob played by John Travolta in the 1978 film. And Osnes's lovely, sculptured singing voice does struggle at times to get heard over the small but well-miked house band. But they perform all the dance moves required...
...much about grades and college as they do about sex. But Seth is also jealous that Evan might be sleeping with - all right, sharing a dorm room with - their nerdiest classmate, Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who also was accepted at Dartmouth. And Seth needs to have sex with a cool girl named Jules (note: guy's name) that night, that very night, not to commune with her, or even to get orgasmic pleasure for the first time from another person, but so he can practice sexual techniques with someone he knows and be a stud at the state college...
...Anyway, I'm glad the movie exists, because it has a fabulous performance by Mintz-Plasse, a first-time movie actor with a beguiling, almost cunning dorkishness. The comedy comes from Fogell's belief that he is somehow cool, though he must have been told the opposite three times a day since he was in pre-school. Apatow has a habit of promoting his featured losers to starring roles. Rogen was one of Steve Carell's friend-torturers in The 40-Year-Old Virgin before getting Knocked Up, and Hill was a Rogen buddy in that film before Superbad. From...
...could end in a bust. Real estate stocks plunged as much as 50% in a general market sell-off last spring, while property prices have fallen 20% or so in some areas in the past six months. Both the government and the Reserve Bank of India are trying to cool the real estate sector without crashing it. The RBI has raised interest rates six times in the past 18 months to try to rein in inflation, which peaked in March at an annual rate of 7%. The Securities and Exchange Board, meanwhile, has tightened up regulations on foreigners investing...
What more refreshing antidote to the dog days of summer than a cool, confident blue? International Klein Blue?created and so named by French artist Yves Klein in 1957?inspired the palette on dozens of fall runways and has already been worn on the red carpet by trendsetters like Cate Blanchett. For a head-to-toe look, nothing beats MaxMara's easygoing jumpsuit, but for a mere splash of color, look no further than Dior's chunky cage platforms, Valentino's bow clutch or Hermès' Clipper Chrono Plongeur watch. Kartell's Ero/S/is a modern touch for the office...
