After Crimson punter Steve Flach kicked into the Eli end zone for a touchback. Rogan set off on an 80-yd. march, eventually hitting paydirt with a fourth-and-19 pass to split end Curtis Grieve, who leapt high above cornerback Rocky Delgadillo and adjuster Matt Foley for a spectacular six points...

Yale safety Mike Muscatello--who had deflected several passes earlier--and cornerback Dave Daugherty picked off Buckley aerials in the final quarter as the Crimson lurched from crisis to crisis. As shadows lengthened at the closed end of Soldiers Field, the Crimson became shrouded in a black wave of failure pinned deep in its own end and unable to mount any forward thrusts...

Yale is clearly at its weakest in the secondary. "Inexperience" has been the watchword here, and, as Cozza admits, the Elis "have been exploited all year in the secondary." Cornerback Dave Daughtery and safety Mike Muscatello, a player who covers the field well but defenses the pass poorly, will more than have their hands filled with Harvard's lightning quick quarterback-turned-split-end Ron Cuccia. Most observers say the Harvard attack will stand or fall on the strength of its air game.25CrimsonNevin I. ShalitPHIL MANLEY...

Another pass interference penalty gave the Crimson a first and goal at the one, and Bianucci thanked the Bulldogs for their kindness by crashing over for the touchdown. Abate hit the PAT to make it a 20-14 game...

While many people expected the front five to be impressive, no one anticipated the stunning emergence of the Crimson's defensive backfield, an inexperienced corps has singlehandedly won several ballgames for Harvard. Take cornerback Rocky Delgadillo, a junior who saw limited action last year. All he's done is intercept an Ivy League-leading seven passes (including one for 93 yds. and a touchdown in the 20-12 victory over Cornell). Senior safety Mike Jacobs, who has four interceptions and the game-saving play on a two-point conversion in Harvard's 17-16 triumph over Brown, junior cornerback Pete...
