Under Kessler's direction, the FDA is modifying the order in which ingredients are listed on a label. Traditionally, components have been listed in descending order by weight. That enables manufacturers to play games with sweeteners, listing each type (corn syrup, sugar, honey, and so on) separately so they will appear in the lower part of the list.
