Blumenthal is correct that the American public is reacting against "the nadir of the coverage of politics," but does that mean that we can look forward to a day when we will no longer be bombarded with scandal after scandal? While Blumenthal seems to place most of the blame on the press, there is a public that sops up the drivel coming out of media outlets. Who is providing the scandals...

...Christian, and my vote is shaped by my faith. I am pro-choice, support gay rights and oppose school prayer. I believe that evolution is probably correct and in no way contradicts the Bible. As you may have guessed, I am not a Ralph Reed supporter. All of these stands are more than compatible with my faith; but I believe that these positions would not fit in the faith of many others who also identify themselves as Christian. Was the risk factor properly appraised, not only with regard to allied troops temporarily present in the vicinity of the destruction site but also with regard to the Iraqi civilian population? If "blowing up" is a correct description of what happened, and if even minute quantities of nerve gas can be a severe health hazard, one shudders at the possibilities of long-lasting contamination of the Iraqi countryside and population.
