DIED. Bob Nolan, 72, composer of 1,000 western, country and gospel songs, including such classics as Cool Water and Tumbling Tumbleweeds; of a heart attack; in Costa Mesa, Calif. In 1931 he formed a trio with Tim Spencer and a young cowboy singer named Leonard Slye, who later changed his name to Roy Rogers and left the group to make movies.
