...years has recently been finished and was yesterday hung in the Living Room of the Union. The portrait is the gift of the classes of 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915, and the artist himself, whose generosity thus made the funds raised by the above classes sufficient to cover the cost of the painting. Mr. Tarbell has at the same time wished to express his sincere appreciation and pleasure in the painting of the portrait and his hopes that he in some measure caught the qualities which have endeared Dean Briggs to so many college generations. In the depicting...

The furnishing is uniform, but in excellent, simple taste, and the whole effect is such that most graduates who visit these halls will, we are sure, wish they might go to College all over again, not only because of the quiet of these...
...Brickley went to Bates' 5-yard line, and was returned about 15 yards. After a recovered fumble, and two attempts at the line, Bates punted outside on her own 35-yard line. Two rushes by Mahan and Brickley almost made it first down for Harvard, but a penalty cost five yards. Three more mass plays resulted in the first touchdown of the year by Brickley, Hardwick kicking the goal...

It appears from the experience of the last hundred years that these methods of support, combined with the privilege of exemption from taxation, can be trusted...
