...best - as in Liszt's Ballade in B-Minor, on the IPA/Desmar record - the massive rumbling bass is an effective counterpoint to the ethereal run-work in the treble. It is an inspired interpretation; method and material work in harmony...
...goes, with middle-class students swelling the ranks of ROTC, with increasingly loud murmurs emanating from the corpse that was the Selective Service System, and with the Pentagon's computers humming and clicking along, playing a neat counterpoint in the background. Of course, not everyone agrees with what is going on: at Georgetown University, for instance, the Rev. Richard T. Infuriated by the perfumed elegance, Bothwell strides forward and belts forth a rough Scottish reel. The roistering tune and sinister tremolo accompaniment overwhelm the lutelike Renaissance melody of the dance...
...students. Students must participate in educational change made in their name. They are one source of expertise on education; faculty are another. Each must recognize the contribution the other can make. The consumers' point of view (we want there to be a certain type of course...) is a useful counterpoint to the producers' (...then it must be required, otherwise it can't be developed...
