...Nathaniel Holmes '37 died at his residence, 7 Holyoke Place, Cambridge, on Tuesday, at the advanced age of 86. He was born in Peterborough N. H., and graduated from Harvard in 1837. For many years he practiced law, in St. Louis, Mo., and was a judge of the Supreme Court of Missouri from 1865 to 1868. In the latter year he resigned from the Bench to accept the position of Royall Professor of Law at the Harvard Law School, which he held until 1872. In 1859 he received the degree of A.
