¶The President nominated George B. Christian, Jr., Secretary to President Harding, for a post on the Federal Trade Board. Opposition to the appointment came from Senator Couzens, Republican, of Michigan, and Senator King, Democrat, of Utah. They declared that the former Secretary to the President was not qualified.
