After my determination to experience something new and different, this ending to my saga may sound like rather a copout: adversity struck and like a whimpering coward I fled back to familiarity. Born 100 years ago this December, the late Noel Coward will not lack for centenary celebrations. This off-Broadway revue-cum-memoir, about his friendship and collaboration with Gertrude Lawrence (The King and I), musters nearly 20 of his songs and is utterly charming.
