...even a parody for people opposed to hunting: Deer Avenger (Cendant Software; $19.95). In it, bazooka-toting deer lure potbellied hunters to their death with such "genuine hunter calls" as a feminine cry of "Help, I'm naked, and I have a pizza." This game has yet to crack...

...good life ended in 1935. Thomas E. Dewey was appointed New York City special prosecutor to crack down on the rackets. He targeted Luciano, calling him "the czar of organized crime in this city," and charged him with multiple counts of compulsory prostitution. The trial was sensational. Tabloids went wild. Lucky vehemently denied being a pimp. "It's a bum rap," he said, a lament echoed down the years to modern Miami, where a few aging mobsters remember the man. ...November 29th, the ducks are sent to the company's garage in East Boston where "they are taken apart piece by piece so that each part can be cleaned out and shined up and stored for the winter," according to one sales representative at duck headquarters. Subsequently, "specially trained, crack mechanics--on call 24 hours a day--ensure the upkeep of the ducks." These duck masters can "deal with a vehicle which was phased out of existence decades...
