A few years later, she could walk into her private museum, gaze upon Veronese, del Sarto, Filippo Lippi, Rembrandt, de Hoogh, Hals, Rubens, Cranach, El Greco, Goya, Millet, Monet, Manet, Puvis de Chavannes, Re noir, Pissarro, Corot, Poussin, Ingres, Cezanne, Mary Cassatt and Degas. If the mood was not for pictures, there were sundry other objets d'art - marbles by Donatello, Cyprian glass, Italian faience, Japanese lacquers, Hispano-Moresque plaques, and a collection of weird Degas excursions into clay...
Among the prints in the exhibit there will be several examples of excellent impressions of work by Cranach, Hans Baldung, Grun, and the "Little Masters." Holbein is also represented in the exhibition. Among the prints by him there will be some very fine proofs from the Dance of Death some excellent borders, and several Old Testament cuts...
...Little Masters" are represented by a few prints each, including early etchings by Hirschvogel, Lautensack, and Hopfer. Lucas Cranach's work on both copper and wood is shown, and there are woodcuts designed by Hans Holbein. The proofs from his Dance of Death are fine impressions, and the tiny pictures with their few lines show the master a great draughtsman and composer. the exhibition will last for several weeks...
