Zinc. A zinc as well as a lead miner is President Crane, St. Joe's zinc output last year being 26,000 tons. Biggest U. S. independent zinc producer is New Jersey Zinc Co., a conservative old concern which publishes few figures, always makes money, has paid dividends without interruption since the Century's turn and actually has its principal mines in New Jersey. What the Court of Appeals had to do was to get in step with the U. S. Supreme Court by explaining its Doubleday, Doran-Macy decision. Wrote Chief Justice Frederick E. Crane: "[When] the publisher sought ... to compel Macy to sell the books at the price it had fixed with another Doubleday corporation . . . we thought this to be a clear case of unauthorized restriction upon the disposition of one's own property and unconstitutional within former decisions of the United States Supreme Court.
