Perry Trafford, Cranston and Cumnock were coaching and they seemed to put new life into the men. Cumnock coached the line men in defensive work and they did so well that with the exception of three long gains made in the last ten minutes of an hours hard play, the second eleven backs did not make a gain of over five yards.
