...skate on one rear wheel, the company cherry-picks a handful of cool kids, "like school athletes," in selected schools to join Team Heelys. These paid performers demo the shoes at malls, concerts and sporting events, and they also chat up Team Heelys wannabes on the Heelys website, generating cred and buzz...

...upcoming exhibit, “Hip Hop Won’t Stop: The Beats, the Rhymes, the Life,” has been perceived both as a threat to the legitimacy of a once-underground movement, and as a victory for African-American culture. Those skeptical of the street cred of an organization that also manages the National Museum of American History should note the exhibit’s coy subtitle riff on the title of A Tribe Called Quest’s second-worst album. For example, Marianne Sanders, 62, the mother of the girl who died, says that she and her husband recognize Frey but that he was not a good friend of their daughter's and that he wasn't even remotely blamed for the accident that killed her in 1986 (another girl, whom Frey doesn't mention, also died in the accident). "We knew...
