When Secretary of the Treasury Mellon testified before the Senate investigating committee in regard to the bonds contributed to the Republican Party by Harry F. Sinclair, the newspapers generally gave the Secretary credit for his action, but the committee's prosecutor let Boston know that he disapproved of Mellon's action by pointing out that Mellon must have known from the beginning of the iniquity attached to Sinclair's contribution.
