After Thursday's light work all the crews had hard practice yesterday. The University crew rowed downstream in the afternoon one and a half miles at a stroke of about 26, raising it to 32 in the last mile which was rowed in about 5 minutes. Partly because of the ideal weather conditions the men showed great improvement over former work and seemed to be rounding into fine shape. Yesterday afternoon the Yale University crew rowed upstream over the four-mile course. Although the men were given hard work, it was not a time row. The stroke was 28 for the first three miles and 30 for the last mile. The crew will probably not be given a time row until Saturday afternoon, when all examinations will be over...
