Holmes field was rather too soft for cricket yesterday, especially after the two showers, but the scheduled championship match was played off in spite of unfavorable conditions. Haverford went to the bat first, and by steady play piled up 85 runs, Muir leading with 19. Sharper fielding by Harvard would have kept the score lower.
