Haverford defeated Harvard yesterday in the first match of the intercollegiate cricket series by a score of 93 to 35. Harvard played a second innings and scored only 17 runs. The Haverford eleven have been practising for several months and played a very fine game, both in the field and at the bat. Lester, however, made two-thirds of the runs, batting out 61 runs, not out. Today the first match of the intercollegiate cricket series takes place between Harvard and Haverford at Longwood. The game will begin at 11 a. m. and will last until about 6 p. m.
