...this awe the world has for this University used to only serve as a reminder of the shortcomings of the education here. So often in my four years at Harvard, I’ve walked through the Yard, absorbing the crisp sights and sounds of this academic playground with more than my fair share of cynicism and disdain. Bitter, acerbic, jaded, I would sweep my eyes from brick to branch disappointed and disaffected with certain elements of my education. “This is the best school in the world?” I would think after a Shakespeare section...
...ABOUT FAMILYAfter she became a coveted commodity with corporate boards, Whitman says she told her recruiters: “Let’s not kid ourselves, I know I’m a token, but don’t expect me to be just a token.” Crisp and clear on the phone, in no way revealing her 71 years, Whitman has always maintained a realistic mentality. “I just went ahead and did my thing, and never went in for the blue suits and little bowties,” says the previous board member...
After a bizarre, costume-heavy, and not particularly funny musical comedy performance by a group known as Pleaseasaur, Pinback took the stage and launched into a set of crisp, dynamic rock. The buds of Castilian roses would be transformed into ice cream. It was an ambitious menu--especially since none of us had any idea how to make those dishes. But that was the point. We had enrolled in a daylong cooking class during...

With a crisp fastball pounding down-and-in and his usual knee-buckling curve, he struck out six while allowing just six hits and three walks. For good measure, he also managed to pick off two runners in the fourth inning alone, thwarting a potential Big Green rally.“It was outstanding...
